Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Juni XR puts virtual characters in your room and lets you talk to them. It is made by Presence AI, Inc. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app collects and what we do with it.
What we collect
To work at all, Juni XR collects:
- Your account — a user ID and display name from the Meta account you sign in with, and roughly where you sign in from (country, region and city, worked out from your IP address), on the headset and on the website. Never your password.
- Your conversations — what you say to a character and what it says back, so a chat you start in the headset can pick up where it left off later, and so you can read it back on the web under Conversations. Each conversation is stored with the app's own record of that session: what it did when you asked for something, and anything that went wrong. We keep them for 90 days. The people who run Juni XR may read these records to find out what went wrong and to improve the app; only they can, and only for that. An automatic check also reads them each day to spot the moments the app let you down.
- Your voice — while you talk to a character, the sound from your headset's microphone is sent to our servers and our cloud providers to be turned into words and answered. We keep the words, as part of the conversation above, and not the recording. A video you record for a step of a walkthrough keeps its sound, and stays on your headset.
- What your character remembers — short notes about you, in plain words, built from those conversations: your name, the people and things you mention, what you ask it to remember. Each character keeps its own. Numbers that look like an account, a card or an ID, and passwords, are never kept, whatever you say.
- How you use the app — which features you use, how you move through the app, how long you spend in it, and error reports, so we can see what works, fix what doesn't, and improve Juni XR. On the website, that means which pages you open once you're signed in. These records hold events, counts and times, not what you say.
- Your plan and minutes — which plan you're on, how many minutes you have left, and the minutes and plans you've bought through the Meta Store (what and when; Meta handles the payment, and we never see your card). We also keep a daily count of what you use, to apply each plan's limits.
- What you send us through the website — if you fill in the form on our page for teams, your name, work email, company and message, so we can reply. We keep them for up to two years, or until you ask us to delete them, and use them only to answer you.
- Visits to our website — which of our public pages you open, the name of the site that sent you there, your type of device, browser and operating system, and roughly where you are (country, region and city), worked out from your IP address. We don't keep the IP address itself. This needs no account; see Cookies for how we tell one visitor from another.
Your headset will ask you to grant camera access before any of this begins. Juni XR can't place a character in your room without it, so granting it is what makes the app work. You can withdraw it at any time in your headset's settings.
When you ask your character about something you're looking at, or use Spatial AI to be walked through something, a picture from the headset's cameras is sent to our servers to be understood, and while Spatial AI follows the parts of what you're working on, so is a stream of frames. We use them to answer you and don't keep them, unless you share your Spatial AI sessions with us.
Sharing your Spatial AI sessions. At the end of setup we ask whether you'd like to share your Spatial AI sessions with us. If you're in the EU, the EEA or the UK, sharing starts switched off and only happens if you turn it on; elsewhere it starts switched on, and you can turn it off right there. If you share, your Spatial AI sessions may be used to improve Juni XR. Nothing is collected outside Spatial AI mode. We keep a shared session for 90 days, and only the people who run Juni XR can see it. You can change your mind at any time in the headset's Settings, and deleting your data removes what you've shared. Whether or not you share, the headset keeps its own record of recent Spatial AI sessions so a problem can be looked into there; deleting your data removes that too.
Other people in the room
Because the headset sees your surroundings, its images can include whoever else is there. We only use them to provide and improve Juni XR — we don't try to identify anyone and we don't do facial recognition. Still, it's worth letting people nearby know the headset is on.
What we do with it
We use it to run the app, keep your characters and your setup the way you left them, keep your account secure, and fix and improve Juni XR. We don't use it for anything else.
We have never sold your data and we never will. We don't share it with advertisers or data brokers, we don't use it to build a profile of you, and we don't hand it to anyone for their own purposes. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who else touches it
We rely on a small number of established vendors to operate the service: cloud service providers, which host the app, store your data, generate the characters' spoken replies from what you say, and understand pictures from the headset's cameras. They work for us under contract, process your data only to provide their service to us, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
Beyond those, your data stays with us. The only other time we would disclose anything is if the law required it.
Your choices
You can turn off camera and microphone access at any time in your headset's settings, though Juni XR needs both to do what it does. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — just email us and we'll take care of it. You can delete a single conversation yourself on the web, under Conversations, and all of your data, or your whole account, as described in Deleting your data. Depending on where you live you may have these as formal rights under laws such as the GDPR or California's privacy laws; either way, we'll honour the request.
Deleting your data
Anyone can have their data deleted, wherever they live, and it never costs anything. There are three ways to do it:
- On the headset: open the menu, choose Account, then Delete my data or Delete my account, and confirm.
- On the website: sign in, open Account, and under Your data choose Delete data or Delete account, then confirm.
- By email: write to info@presencexr.ai from any address, with the Meta username you use in Juni XR, and say what you'd like deleted. You don't need a headset or an account with us to ask. We'll check the account is yours before we delete anything, and tell you when it's done.
Delete my data removes your conversations and the app's records of them, what your characters remember, the characters you made, the bodies you uploaded, the walkthroughs you kept, the Spatial AI sessions you shared, the problems you reported, and the copies of these on your headset. Your account stays, so you can carry on with nothing kept. Delete my account removes all of that and the account itself; signing in again later starts a new one.
Whichever way you ask, it's done within a few hours (by email, once we've checked the account is yours), except for these:
- Your plan and minutes stay with your Meta account, so minutes you paid for aren't lost and the free trial is once per person.
- The counts of what you've used stay, so a plan's limits still apply. They hold no words, pictures or sound.
- Website visits are deleted with your data only if you've signed in from that browser.
- Our servers' own logs, which note your account ID with each request, aren't deleted early; they go after 30 days.
- Deleted data can remain in our providers' backups for up to 7 days before it is gone for good.
What your character remembers, and how to change it
Everything your character remembers is a list you can read, on the web under Memory and in the headset under Menu › Character. Nothing is hidden from you. You can correct any of it in your own words, tell your character to keep something but stop bringing it up, delete a single memory, or have it forget everything at once. Out loud, “remember that…” and “forget what I told you about…” do the same thing.
Two switches sit beside that list. Off the record means your character reads its memory as usual for the rest of that one conversation and keeps nothing new from it. Memory off means it neither reads nor keeps anything at all; what it already knows stays put until you delete it. A third, remember sensitive topics, is on by default: turn it off and your character will still talk with you about health, beliefs, politics, identity or where you live, and simply write none of it down.
One thing worth being plain about, because the opposite is easy to assume: deleting a conversation does not delete what your character learned in it, and deleting a memory does not delete the conversation it came from. The two lists are separate, and each has its own delete. Deleting your data or your account, from the headset menu, removes both.
Keeping it safe
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and it's separated by account: signing in only ever gets you your own rooms and conversations, never anyone else's. Our servers are in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Conversations, and the app's record of each session: 90 days.
- Spatial AI sessions you share: 90 days.
- What your character remembers, your characters, the bodies you upload and the walkthroughs you keep: until you delete them, or your data.
- Problems you report to us from the app: until you delete your data.
- How you use the app, and when and where you signed in: 25 months.
- Visits to the website: 25 months.
- Messages you send us through the website's form: up to two years, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Our servers' own logs, which note your account ID with each request the app makes: 30 days.
- Your plan and minutes: for as long as we run Juni XR.
Deleting your data or your account ends all of these early except the last; see Deleting your data.
Children
Juni XR isn't intended for children under 13, and neither are the headsets it runs on. If you think a child has sent us data, let us know and we'll remove it.
Cookies
The website uses these cookies, all its own. None come from anyone else, and none are used for advertising.
- __session keeps you signed in.
- pxr_vid is a random ID that lets us count how many different people visit and how many come back. It holds nothing about you, lasts 13 months, and is never shared. If you're in the EU, the EEA or the UK, we ask first and only set it if you say yes. Elsewhere we set it on your first visit.
- pxr_consent is set only if you say no, so we remember not to ask again. It lasts 6 months.
Without pxr_vid we still count your visit, but only within a single day: our server combines your IP address and browser details with a code that changes every day and is then thrown away, so a visit can't be matched to one on another day. We treat Global Privacy Control as a no. You can change your choice at any time in cookie settings.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we'll change the date above, and we'll tell you in advance if the change is significant.
